Worthy District Deputies, District Marshals, Grand Knights, Financial Secretaries, Faithful Navigators and Faithful Comptrollers:
As the Master of John H. Reddin Province, District of New Mexico, I am pleased to announce that a Patriotic Exemplification will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This exemplification will be hosted by St. Jude Assembly
#3186 with the exemplification occurring at Fr. John Conway Center, St. Jude Thaddeus Parish. The vigil Mass will be celebrated at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church and the banquet at the St. Jude Thaddeus Parish Hall. The address for all of these facilities is 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, Albuquerque NM 87114. All 3rd Degree Knights in good standing seeking to attain their Fourth and final Degree and reach full Knighthood in our Order are invited to register to attend this impressive exemplification ceremony.
Form 4. The key to a 3rd Degree Brother Knight becoming a Sir Knight starts with the detailed completion and timely submission of his Form 4, Fourth Degree Membership Document. Make sure the candidate’s membership # is included at the top of the form. Note that Block 2 of the form addresses the candidate’s citizenship – after all, this is the Patriotic degree of our Order. The candidate will be joining an Assembly so he needs to be sponsored by a member of that Assembly who signs the form as his proposer and includes his KofC membership number. The Financial Secretary of the candidate’s home council will sign and date the Form 4 thereby attesting to his good standing and currency as a 3rd Degree member. The proposer should then take the candidate’s Form 4 to his next assembly meeting so he can be vetted and voted on for acceptance into the assembly by assembly members. The signature of the Faithful Navigator and Faithful Comptroller of the Assembly the candidate seeks to join in Block 5 is the quality control I need to see before I endorse the form as the District Master. Make sure the completed Form 4 is married up with the registration form (below) and the candidate’s check for the registration fee of $70.00 (fee includes the cost of the candidate’s social baldric, the Fourth Degree emblem pin and the banquet). The cost for spouse and guest(s) attending the banquet is $25.00 per person. It takes time to complete this critical form so start on it now as you will be submitting it to me via snail mail. And remember – leave the completed Form 4 intact as all four copies must be endorsed by the District Master.
Regalia. There are numerous positive facets underlying our principle of Patriotism, one of them being our visible presence as Sir Knights. Our Regalia, our “uniform”, announce our presence to others and is the foundation garment for those who choose to go on and acquire the Full Regalia of our Order. Making this financial and material purchase demonstrates the candidate’s commitment to becoming a Sir Knight and should not be taken lightly. Our Patriotic Degree Color Corps Drill Manual defines the make-up of our Regalia, of which the following components the candidate must provide:
– A black, single-breasted tuxedo (no navy blue, no two-tone, no dark shade of gray)
– A white, pleated, plain-collar (no wing-tip collar – it’s called a down collar) tuxedo shirt with convertible front and cuffs to allow wear of studs and cuff links (no ivory or cream colored shirt).
– A black cummerbund
– Tuxedo studs and cuff links
– A black bow tie (clip-on or band style)
– Black footwear (black socks – no black loafers, no black running or athletic shoes)
(The Fourth Degree social baldric and lapel pin emblem which make up the Regalia are provided by us at the ceremony.)
Candidates who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, are a full-time police officer or firefighter are in proper attire when wearing his Class A-equivalent dress uniform – no BDUs, fatigues, flight suits, tactical gear. The social baldric is not worn.
