Brothers All,
New Mexico Special Olympics 2018 Summer Games are in Albuquerque on May 18, 19 and 20.
In honor of Special Olympics’ 50th Anniversary, consider celebrating this great cause.
A few ways YOU can help.
1. If you have full regalia participate in Presentation of Colors at opening Ceremony on evening of Friday, May 18.
2. NEW: Volunteer for two hours on Saturday, May 19 to do simple crafts or games (like corn hole) with the athletes as they wait for their sport. New Mexico Special Olympics (NMSO) asked us to consider if we could help in this endeavor. It will be informal, and is a great way to involve your family and really make these special athletes smile. Wear your Council and/or Assembly shirts, vests, etc.
3. Raise funds for Special Olympics in honor of their 50th Anniversary and partnership with Knights of Columbus. Contact Willie Romero for check delivery or visit

They have a special commemorative”coin” for gifts of $50. learn more at

You can also sign up for their free e-newsletter and “like” them on Facebook.
IMPORTANT: If you (or your Council or Assembly) are interested in Friday’s Presentation of Colors and/or assisting with Saturday’s day event, please contact Willie Romero at WillieRomero@gmail.com or 505.503.0747 (voice/text). We will keep a list and update you on specifics like time and location.
Thank you for your consideration to increase our participation in the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics. Knights have been partners with them since the beginning (literally President John Kennedy’s sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver founded Special Olympics).
Fraternally and Blessed Lenten and Easter Season,
Willie Romero
