Council 13969 hosted there 3rd Annual Fun Fishing Day for all youths from the ages of 4 – 14 yrs. We had 100 youth who participated along with 80+ guardians. The Brothers and community members assisted the youth in baiting and taught them basic fishing techniques. A free lunch was provided to all participants and their guardians. Over 200 lunches were prepared and served by our Ladies Auxiliary. We also had raffles for fishing supply prizes for the youth participants. These were made possible by prize donations and monetary donations from our local merchants. We are proud to say all youth received a prize. We also received participation from New Mexico State University Fisheries and Wildlife Society, New Mexico Game & Fish, Mesilla Valley Fly Fishers Inc. and experienced fisherman from the our community. The success of this event was the increase in participants from last year and our community coming together to support this event.”
